Computer Applications
Computer Applications (semester course) introduces the student to the world of computers both through the processes of knowledge-level and application-level instructional activities.
This introductory course will teach the student Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Microsoft Publisher will also be introduced, along with Internet applications.
A textbook is utilized, along with web resources, which will guide the students’ comprehension of the material in a step-by-step instructional format.
Once students master the applications, creative projects will be given to test the students’ understanding of the software applications. Online quizzes will be taken by the student and scores are sent to the instructor. "Tech Tip Tuesdays" allow students to share a tech tip with the class they use in the current software program being learned.
*This course counts toward the Visual Performing Arts credit.
